At the intersection between innovation and imagination, we find Chase Reid. A senior at Tatnall School, Chase has already made his presence known in the world of technology. Active in all facets of high school, ranging from Science Olympiad and Model UN to Coding Club, Chase pushes himself even deeper into what interests him by exploring, learning and creating. Chase considers himself an artist, his art being technology. First exposed to the computer at the age of 4, he began programming at the meager age of 9. Now fluent in over 5 programming languages, Chase has authored a wide variety of software tools, including mReveal, a product that combines the data deluge with deep learning to differentiate between benign and malignant mammogram masses and assess breast cancer risk, and Lyre, an application featured in Technical.ly, an online tech magazine, that analyzes facial emotion and intelligently recommends music to soothe you based on your mood. Chase has won both 1st and 2nd Place accolades in Computer Science at the New Castle County Science Fair and Delaware Valley Science Fair respectively with mReveal. He had the opportunity to showcase his work at the 2017 Technologies To Watch Showcase, where he was featured in Delaware Business Now. His research into the use of recurrent neural networks to determine the genetic mutations that drive cancer growth has recently earned him a publication in an online, peer-reviewed journal. With each and every passing day, Chase discovers his passion for technology and society growing more fervent. Now, Chase finds himself both captivated by the intersection between humanity and machine intelligence and motivated to make it a reality.
