David C. Woessner is a trusted leader and expert in the automotive, transportation and mobility industries while also being a thought leader in emerging technologies. He has written articles and whitepapers on mobility, connectivity and automotive technology hubs. David has over 15 years of executive leadership and management experience. He has worked in and with Fortune 500 companies as well as startup, private equity, venture capital, non-profit, academic and government entities. David is a sought after speaker nationally for providing insights and perspectives on new business models, disruptive technology and entrepreneurship.

David currently serves as the first General Manager of Local Motors (LM) in Washington DC. After launching an award winning facility along with the world’s first self-driving, cognitive, low-speed, electric shuttle, Olli, in 2016, he is now responsible for operations of the sales, demonstration, and service facility in National Harbor, MD. His primary focus is working with local stakeholders and partners to demonstrate, pilot, and sell self-driving Ollis in the Washington DC region and beyond. He also leads External Affairs in order to appropriately influence public policy and consumer perception of self-driving technology and 3D printed vehicles.

Prior to joining LM, David founded W Advisors & Co in Detroit, Michigan – a consulting and business development firm serving clients by providing access and insight. Additionally, David served as Senior Advisor on Jobs and The Economy for Mayor Duggan in the City of Detroit. As a City Advocate, he led development of strategies and policies to create a business environment that would enable corporate entities to successfully grow their organizations in Detroit.

Previously, David was a Managing Principal for P3 Group’s Strategy Consulting Practice; he also led business development, marketing and sales across the Americas for P3 North America. Prior to P3, David spent 4 years at Deloitte Consulting in the Strategy and Operations practice working on Global M&A within various industries, primarily automotive and technology. David started his career at IBM, where he was the #1 participant of the annual Global Sales School in 2004 and became the youngest Client Executive in the Industrial Sector supporting the Daimler Chrysler Integrated Account.

David earned his MBA and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology while serving multiple terms on the National Society of Black Engineers’ National Board of Directors. He received his BA in Physics and German from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana while being a varsity athlete. He recently completed his 3-year term on the Board of the National Association of Wabash Men.

David enjoys playing soccer and basketball while also coaching youth sports, he fully embraces his German & Moroccan culture and the live, work and play model that National Harbor, MD has to offer.
