My name is Kaamilah Diabaté, and I am a sophomore at Howard High School of Technology. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA for the duration of the year while playing on varsity for Howard’s basketball team. I’ve been writing since I was six. I have won numerous awards for my poetry, including winning first place in the 2016 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Communication Contest. In February, I won the 19th Annual NAACP High School Essay Oratory Contest. Writing is a lifestyle.
