Dr. Michael A. Turnbull is a licensed clinical psychologist and ordained minister, who is passionate about making the lives of those he serves better. In every role he has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact through selfless service. At age 16, he started a non-profit organization, Project Lion Heart, with a simple desire to provide gifts at Christmas for at-risk children. Project Lion Heart, went on to be a strong force in the Virgin Islands, with over 300 graduates, through their full mentorship and risk diversion and prevention program for youth.
Dr. Turnbull’s tertiary education started with a strong foundation at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, in his home in the British Virgin Islands in 2000 and he used this foundation as launching pad to earn a B.A. in Psychology graduating Summa Cum Laude from Howard University, and Later Earning a Master of Divinity with Honors from Howard University School of Divinity. He further earned a Master of Science in Psychology and later a Doctor of Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology all prior to age 30.
Dr. Mike as he is affectionately called, is Board Certified to practice psychology in the US and BVI. Dr. Turnbull is currently the Director of The Wellness Center Behavioral Health Clinic (TWCBH) and The Wellness Center Medical Clinic (TWCMC). Through his partnerships with local and international organizations, Dr. Mike and a tremendous team of volunteers, conducted Trauma groups and Individual therapy for over 1500 children, after the devastation of Hurricane Irma and Maria in 2017 in the BVI.
Dr. Mike serves at the Executive Pastor, alongside his father, Rev. Dr. Melvin A. Turnbull at the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church. He is the Husband of Shondrea Turnbull, and father of A’Nia, and twins, Elijah and Amelle.
