Dr. Thianda Manzara is the Founder and President of Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids (HFHK), a nonprofit organization that works with Delaware schools to design and implement vegetable gardening programs that support science education and promote healthy eating. Before starting HFHK, Thianda’s career was focused on biology research and teaching. She holds advanced degrees in agronomy and genetics, and taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania.

Motivated by a desire to improve children’s health, Thianda combined her love of science and her passions for food, cooking and gardening to create HFHK. Inspired by her Greek mother and grandmother, it’s her desire to share her appreciation of garden-fresh vegetables with the next generation.
